hello!
some people have been introducing themselves, and i like that idea, so... here's my little intro!

my name's betsy. i'm 23, and i live in seattle. i'm in a newly formed band with my boyfriend called the sexual creathers. i play bass and guitar. i've been playing both on and off for a long time, but i'm really not all that good! it's still fun, though, and that's what is important.

i have a pink peavey bass named bettie, and i have a black hello kitty fender squier that i call kitty.

Hey y'all, new member here. :) Two-in-one post, I guess. *laughs*

Self: [info]aitakute
Age: 21
Pretty new at guitar, although I've owned at least one for as long as I can remember. (LOL!) I play almost all stuff, but I'm really fond of rock; post-grunge, industrial, metal, instrumental, as well as the classics. Heroes include Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Al di Meola; favorites include 30 Seconds to Mars' Tomo Milicevic, L'Arc~en~Ciel's Ken Kitamura, etc. Would probably take years to list everyone down.

I am currently really into playing the guitar, and am taking it seriously. Mostly for the love of the sounds it emit, if not for the sheer fun one gets while playing.

:) Nice to meet y'all.

P/s: Dear Mods, my apologies if this next section is not allowed. Feel free to remove. ^^;;

This is to promote a new community, [info]seriousaboutit. Specially catered to those who are starting their journey into the world of guitar-playing, who would like a place to keep track of their progress without offloading everything onto their own personal Livejournal - we know not everyone's interested in your guitar ramblings. (Geeks, unite!) Or maybe you would want someone else to offer constructive critique to your progress; like-minded people who share your passion, someone who can understand why you've turned down the offer to date the hottest guy/girl (whichever way you sway) in town just to spend more time with your guitar...

This is for you. We're serious about our guitar-playing and getting there, just like you. ;)

Help with photoshop problem.
I use photoshop CS3 and lately, when I tried to use the Type Tool on my images, the font becomes so tiny that it's impossible to see. Is there a setting where you can change that?

Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can find a brush or pattern that will dive me a 'tv lines' look similar to my current icon? Any pointers are appreciated.

Pictures! Please?
Hey everyone, this may be a weird out there question.

I was at the Alkaline Trio show in Baltimore Maryland on the 11th.
For those of you who were there - does ANYONE have any good photos of the show?!
Here's the reason I'm asking:

I'm the girl who threw the rosary on stage to Matt Skiba. Which he then picked up and wore the entire rest of the show
Yes, it was me.
I hand made that rosary (because on an off day I decided to teach myself to make rosaries..don't ask), and happened to have it on me when I decided to throw it on stage. I was on the balcony towards the back left (from the perspective of facing the stage) and I ran to the very very front left of the balcony, waited until I was sure I wasn't going to smack him in the head with it, and then pitched it and RAN like hell (I wasn't sure if I'd get in trouble, hah). I ran back to my boyfriend in my original spot and he was screaming and waving at me to run faster and as I got closer I heard he was screaming "HE'S WEARING IT, HE'S WEARING IT!!!"
From my far perspective and only having my sidekick as a camera, it goes without saying that I didn't get any good (read: clear or usable) pictures of it.

Sorry for the long winded explanation of the..erm..event, but I've seen people be blatantly called liars in other band communities when they tell their stories of throwing things on stage. So I'm a tad paranoid.

Seeking some tuts
Hey all,

I used to have a ton of good coloring tutorials but I lost all my bookmarks and thus, all my tuts. :( I'm looking for a good tutorial that makes the red in an image stand out. I think you know what I'm talking about. If not I can try to post an example. Anyway I'd appreciate it if someone could link me to a tutorial like that they might already have in their bookmarks/LJ memories/etc.

Thanks in advance!

Photoshop is a Pain
It's been a while since I've made any icons (years maybe), but I've run into a problem I think I used to fix with a border but is now causing me problems. I use Photoshop CS3 and whenever I resize my image down to 100x100 I get this little 1px line around the image that is slightly transparent. Needless to say I don't know what to do about it. Any help would be appreciated, a reference picture under the cut.
Help me please! )
